feeling yellow

feeling yellow, as in “chamomile” tosh merino light by Madelinetosh. plans are to turn that lusciousness into a ruffled shawl with the assistance of four other MadTosh yarns.

feeling yellow, as in bananas. i purchased a dozen bananas at the market the other day and i knew that i would make banana muffins. (and i admit, i wanted to experiment with the recipe and new Wilton cupcake muffin tin i bought. just to let you know, i stand by their products.) some with chocolate morsels, some without.

feeling yellow, as in joyful. not particularly giddy, nor grief stricken. i enjoy being out in the early mornings when the sun is just rising. the warmth of my breath is so much intense when it is chilly and frosty outside. i’m learning to layer my clothes and wear warm socks and my soft kitty slippers. i’m finding much more enjoyment being home, cooking for my son and baking new creations. i’ve been reassessing my values, my priorities, my goals. i’m taking time off from some things that i no longer find joy in. and i’m learning that now i have the time to do all those things i said i would: learn a new language, continue experimenting with cupcakes for cookbook, learn to crochet, maybe knit that fair isle sweater i’ve been thinking about, cultivating a garden, traveling around los angeles (there is so much i haven’t seen). so yes, i feel yellow. joyful. happy that i can look forward to a future. to new people, to new places, to new things. and to continuing on feeling yellow.
